Austin Water Education & Outreach

Austin Water offers community education programs on water conservation, environmental stewardship, irrigation and protecting our wastewater system. We work to help Austinites understand where their water comes from, how to use it wisely and how everyday choices affect the health of our creeks, lakes and pipes.

The Dowser Dan School Assembly Program has delivered the important message of water conservation to elementary school students in the community for 30 years.

With bright costumes, amusing characters and engaging music, this free 40-minute educational assembly program instructs K-4th graders on the importance of conserving and protecting our precious water resources.

Since 1991, over half a million students have learned valuable lessons about water from Dowser Dan.
