Step aboard the Halloween Hill Country Flyer, a perfect way for your family to kick off your Halloween celebrations! We invite you to come dressed up in your costumes to enjoy our signature excursion and a cherished tradition for families, friends, and neighbors across Central Texas. Start your full-day adventure by experiencing railroading the way it used to be, inside fully restored vintage railcars carefully preserved by the Austin Steam Train Association and its dedicated volunteers.
Guests are invited to walk through the train, enjoy refreshments and souvenirs from the concession car, and appreciate the details that bring this rolling museum to life. A two-hour layover in Burnet offers time to explore the historic town square, share lunch, or visit Wedding Oak Winery before reboarding for the afternoon ride home.
As the locomotive eases the train back toward Cedar Park, you’ll find yourself settling into that familiar rhythm—the sound of the rails, the shared conversations, and the feeling of being part of something special.
Start your Halloween off right with a Train or Treat after the ride! We will be passing out candy and treats, with a few special character guests to meet and take pictures with before heading out to wherever your next Halloween stop may be!
