Bring the whole family out for a fun-filled morning of history, storytelling, creativity, and community as Black Austin Tours celebrates Heritage Weekend!
We're excited to offer special family-friendly programming from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with engaging activities designed to introduce children to Austin's rich Black history and culture in a fun and interactive way.
Here's what families can look forward to:
Storycraft with Author Deborah Orr: A special interactive program combining storytime and hands-on crafting, giving children an opportunity to listen, learn, and get creative!
Kids' Tour of Ideal Barbershop: A unique, kid-friendly experience exploring the history, cultural significance, and important role of Black barbershops in Austin and beyond.
Family Photo Booth: Capture special memories with family and friends!
Fun & Educational Activities: Enjoy additional activities that bring history and culture to life for visitors of all ages.
