Bring the whole family out under the stars this Veterans Day to honor the men and women who have served, then settle in for a heartwarming movie about one of America’s most beloved war heroes.
Join the Leander VFW and the Leander Arts and Film Alliance for an evening of remembrance, community, and an outdoor screening of Sgt. Stubby: An American Hero. It’s the true story of a stray dog who became a decorated hero of World War I. It’s a great way to share the meaning of Veterans Day with kids.
What to expect:
A Veterans Day remembrance ceremony honoring our local veterans
High school ROTC color guard presentation
An outdoor screening of Sgt. Stubby on a big screen
Food and drinks:
Hot dogs, popcorn and cold drinks will be available for purchase.
Bring a blanket or lawn chairs! The movie is shown outdoors, so arrive when gates open at 5:00 to claim your spot, and dress for the weather.
