The Dark Knight comes to life on the big screen with the Austin Symphony Orchestra performing Danny Elfman’s iconic score live along with the entire film.
Tim Burton’s Batman changed the superhero movie forever. From the visionary director behind Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, this 1989 blockbuster brought Gotham City to life with a dark, bold style that remains instantly recognizable.
The film also features an unforgettable cast, including Michael Keaton as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Jack Nicholson as the Joker, Kim Basinger as Vicki Vale, Billy Dee Williams as Harvey Dent, and Jack Palance as Gotham crime boss Carl Grissom.
And then there is the music.
Composer Danny Elfman created one of the most recognizable superhero scores ever written. The composer behind Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Spider-Man, and Men in Black gave Batman a massive, dramatic sound that helped define the world of Gotham.
For Batman in Concert, you will watch the complete film projected on a giant screen inside Dell Hall while the Austin Symphony Orchestra performs Elfman’s entire score live, synchronized with the movie. The dialogue and action remain on screen, but the music comes to life right in front of you with the full power of a live symphony orchestra.
Whether you have seen Batman dozens of times or are experiencing Tim Burton’s Gotham for the first time, this is a completely different way to experience the movie.
Guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite DC Superhero!
